About us

Redefining Women in Tech (RWIT) was formed to promote, educate and empower women in technology through ongoing conversations, mentorship programs, tangible resources and targeted events within local communities in Lane County, Oregon. Through strategic partnerships, software tools and unique event programming, RWIT members can take advantage of a growing support community, while businesses are provided with the insight they need to adapt their culture for greater success.

RWIT encourages a community-driven, inclusive environment that fosters creativity, helps build self-confidence and leadership skills and encourages community engagement. It provides the foundation to help women prepare for and identify tech careers while supporting local employers by delivering a diverse, job-ready pipeline of candidates.

Debbie Sterling of GoldieBlox talks about how she's inspiring the next generation of female engineers.

What our community has to say

Navigating the world of Tech can be challenging. Knowing that there is a group of people that are up again similar challenges in my Community is not only helpful, but inspiring. The future of our community is tech and inclusive- and I couldn’t be more pleased with what this group is doing in terms of outreach, mentorship and education.

In an effort to build technologies that support a healthy Internet, Mozilla has provided grant funding to support pilot tests of gigabit technologies such as virtual reality, 4K video, artificial intelligence, and their related curricula. The technologies will address education and/or workforce development opportunities. We are looking forward to working with Redefining Women in Tech as they develop impactful, inspiring, and exciting projects.
